Student Government Assembly: Viruses and Vaccines
The Student Government hosts outside speakers to talk with students about a range of topics a few times a year. VP for Administration, Lily S '19, invited Durga Bobba (Parent '19, '21) and his father, Ventkatadri Bobba to share their experiences in the pharmaceutical industry...
...particularly in developing life-saving vaccines.
Durga is the Chief Business Officer of SutroVax Inc. He broke down the not-so-basic differences between viruses and bacteria and how that difference relates to the creation of vaccines which significantly impact global well-being. Venkatadri is a General Partner for Ventureast as well as Board Member of the foundation The Forgotten International. He relayed the story of his roots in India which instilled a deep feeling of responsibility to think creatively to tackle the problems of tomorrow and transform lives.
