Crystal Squash Team Places 22nd at Nationals

The Crystal Squash team competed in the USA Squash High School National Championships in Philadelphia (Feb. 1-4). The team played in Division II (out of seven divisions) and placed sixth in the bracket and 22nd in the nation. Crystal's team was the only high school from California...

...to compete in the tournament and the only school to have middle school students on the team. The team was led by juniors Udai P and Kunal V who played in the one and two spots and finished the tournament winning three of the four matches that they played. Eighth graders John H and Rohan V also played a strong three and four. John finished the tournament 3-1 and Rohan was the only member of the team to finish undefeated for the weekend at a perfect 4-0.

The team was rounded out with Avi M playing five and sixth-grader Himanshu P (playing against high school juniors and seniors) playing six. The squad was rounded out by eighth-grader Roshni P who played in the seven spot. The team would like to thank the Gryphon Club for helping support the trip and Rob Cannone for chaperoning and cheering on the student athletes.
