Lip Sync & Snow Day

It was an epic smash-up for the ages! Two of the school's most treasured traditions became one giant day of school spirit and fun. The entire school was whisked away to the Palace of Fine Arts in the San Francisco Presidio where the Gryphons took over the entire building, including the theater, which hosted Lip Sync.

We celebrated in "One Crystal" style with each grade putting up their best performance. The 6th grade took the Middle School crown with a topical medley of Queen hits including "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You." The 12th grade smashed it for the Upper School, winning with a series of songs about flight--their theme for the year. The ever-popular faculty-staff performance did not disappoint with a Harry Potter medley, including a hilarious Quidditch scene featuring Upper School history teacher (and soon-to-be-mom) Lauren Vargas as the Golden Snitch. After Lip Sync, students participated in a variety of games, and activities, including "Minute to Win It" matches, karaoke, improv, mini golf, and more.  Faculty and staff reveled in the challenge of the world-class escape rooms at Palace Games, created and operated  by none other than Crystal board member and alum, Chris Alden '88.
