Historic Milestones for Crystal Robotics
The Northern California championship season recently concluded, and our robotics team has returned with a historic list of achievements. This year has been defined by significant growth, strategy, and innovation, resulting in a record-breaking season for the program. Congratulations to the entire team for a monumental season.
Key highlights from the competition season include:
- Alliance Captain at Half Moon Bay: A major milestone marking the first time in school history that the team has held this position.
- Finalist at the Silicon Valley competition: The team competed at the highest level, bringing home the silver medal.
- District Championship Qualifiers: Crystal punched its ticket to the district championships within what is widely considered the most competitive district in the world.
- Rising All-Star Award: The team secured the Rising All-Star honor at the district championships, marking the team's first-ever judged award at an official event.
In presenting the award, the judges shared:
"The Rising All Star Award celebrates the team that has persisted through challenges, despite the difficulties of being young. This could be the result of being a new team, or a team with recent turnover in membership. These competitors have been building something special from the GROUND UP! Following a significant drop in membership, they 'rebuilt' their team into a thriving community, empowering new members, developing future leaders, and creating a welcoming space where every student contributes. Rising from the BASEMENT to new heights, this team truly earns their place among the stars. Congratulations Team 4990!"
Congratulations to the entire team for a monumental season. The dedication of these students ensures that the future of STEM at Crystal is brighter than ever. And just wait until next year when they'll operate out of a brand-new Mansion basement!
