Crystal Middle School proudly launched the first-ever Boys Volleyball team this season, made up of a determined group of 6th through 8th graders. With only a handful of practices, the team jumped into a spirited mini-rivalry with Keys Middle School. In a thrilling first match, Crystal narrowly lost in a third-set nail-biter by just two points. Fueled by that close contest, the MS Boys came back stronger in the rematch, securing a decisive victory in straight sets. More impressive than the win, however, was the team’s remarkable growth — seen in their improved communication, serving, teamwork, and on-court confidence. Moreover, the “One Crystal” spirit was in full effect, especially when the Upper School Boys Volleyball team came to coach and cheer, providing inspiration and support that helped elevate the entire experience.

Upper School Boys Volleyball’s relaunched as a pilot program and proved to be a resounding success, with the team finishing 11–2 playing an independent schedule. With strong energy, growth, and team chemistry, the program made a clear statement in its return. Next year, the team will join the PSAL as a supplemental member, gaining structured league play and a path to the CCS postseason. The MS and US teams brought the two campuses together, building momentum and laying the foundation for a sustainable program. We’re so proud of our Gryphons!
