Middle School FAQs

List of 3 items.

  • Will I have a homeroom teacher?

As a middle school student, you are assigned a dedicated advisor for the year who will serve as your go-to support system. You will have advisory meetings twice weekly, providing valuable one-on-one time for personalized guidance. The intentional design of small advisory groups ensures that you can foster meaningful relationships with your advisor, creating a supportive and encouraging environment for your overall growth and success.
  • How much homework is there?

Homework gives students a meaningful opportunity to practice, apply, or preview content. In middle school, students should expect to spend an average of 45 minutes per week per subject on homework in 6th grade, 60 minutes per week per subject in 7th grade, and 90 minutes per week per subject in 8th grade.
  • Why are sports practices during the school day?

To ensure balance in your daily schedule, athletics are scheduled either after lunch or during the final period of the academic day, with some games potentially extending after regular school hours. This ensures that both your academic responsibilities and athletic pursuits are accommodated.
