Global Program for Scholars

Passionate about languages? Curious about exploring other cultures?

Consider Crystal’s Global Program for Scholars of Languages (GPS), a certification program designed to encourage multiple fluencies, cultural awareness and community service. Become a language scholar by learning at least two non-native languages while participating in school clubs and spending time in a target language country for full language immersion. 

Program requirements:
  • Classroom Community: Minimum of two languages
  • School Community: Two years of ongoing participation in Crystal language clubs or serving as a language peer tutor
  • Global Community options (Choose one):
    • One summer of language immersion (minimum 2 weeks duration) 
    • A semester or year abroad within a target language country 
    • participation in a local internship.
    • 20 hours with Talk Abroad organization
    If requesting financial aid, students should verify first with Mr. Considine before committing to a program.

    GPS participants will be awarded a certificate distinguishing them as language scholars upon graduation.
