Although the prevalence of COVID has waned in the past year, we continue to follow mitigation measures as emphasized by the County of San Mateo.
Most important is that we ask that our community members isolate for at least five days when COVID symptoms arise. School offices have supplies of rapid antigen tests for when students/PAC might start to feel symptomatic at school. We reserve the right to require a test result from all community members if there is ever a surge of cases and/or we are coming off of school holiday breaks. In those cases, Crystal will supply the tests.
All those who test positive for COVID are
required to inform the school via the
covidinfo@crystal.org email address and stay home in isolation for at least five days after which they may return to Crystal if symptoms are improving and have been fever-free for at least 24 hours. They may return to school without a test result required.
Other mitigation measures enacted at Crystal include good classroom ventilation and the recommendation to wear masks indoors and eat outside if ever a COVID surge. In addition, students and PAC are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID and keep up with their booster shots as eligible.
School mitigation protocols are subject to evolve as the pandemic evolves and are based on guidance from the school's Medical Advisory team. The school will continue to implement protocols to keep students and school employees safe while delivering its academic program in person.
We continue to get guidance from the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) through its
Safe Schools Framework.
