Meaningful Connections in a Rapidly Changing World

Whether it’s peering into the depths of a volcano in Nicaragua, leading classes in Namibia, or listening to a human rights expert speak about challenges facing contemporary China, students at Crystal have myriad opportunities for learning about the world beyond its borders.

The Global Initiatives program provides educational and experiential learning opportunities for students both at home and abroad. Through short-term study trips, homestays, international internships, and study away opportunities, students can learn about and experience life in diverse cultures while integrating closely with the academic curriculum.

Global Trips

Each year, Crystal offers global experiential learning opportunities for its students. In recent years, students traveled to China, France, Peru, Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, India, Spain, Morocco, Germany, Zambia, and Botswana. Some excursions are tied to curriculum with the Berlin (Germany)/Washington, D.C. trip specifically linked to the Power of Memory course. Many of the trips have service components, guided historical inquiries, robust people-to-people exchanges, and cultural activities.
Nondiscriminatory Policy: Crystal Springs Uplands School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
